The Little Wooden Peg was established in 2018 by Ruth Coss as an online store selling a carefully curated selection of brands new to the Irish market. Since the very beginning The Little Wooden Peg has focused on sourcing simple, natural and sustainable clothes and toys.
The store grew massively in its first five years, opening its first brick and mortar shop in December 2019 in the seaside town of Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin.
While keeping the bespoke hand-drawn logo, I was tasked to create a visual identity and online presence for The Little Wooden Peg that felt as close as possible to visiting the physical store. This encompassed creating a colour palette, a typographic system, a bespoke suite of illustrations as well as art directing photography for use online. The culmination of all of this work was designing and developing an updated website to meet customer demand.
